1. Who we are
LytQuest ("LytQuest", "we", "us") operates lytquest.com and the LytQuest platform. We act as the data controller for personal data collected through the site, which means we decide why and how it is processed. Contact us at hello@lytquest.com about anything in this notice.
2. What we collect and why
- Account details (name, email address, password credentials, profile photo, LytQuester ID): to create and secure your account and identify you across the platform. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Profile and career details (bio, stage, academy, cohort, GitHub and LinkedIn links, employer and role for mentors): to run the community, mentor directory and member profiles. Legal basis: contract and our legitimate interest in running the ecosystem.
- Learning activity (challenge submissions, repository links, write-ups, peer reviews, reviewer notes, XP and season standings): to run the Blueprint Challenge, review and leaderboards. Legal basis: contract.
- Booking and session data (office hour reservations, mentorship bookings, cohort seats, attendance, questions you submit, live session chat and whiteboard content): to deliver the sessions you book. Legal basis: contract.
- Event registrations (name, email, WhatsApp number, career stage): to register you for masterclasses and send the confirmation and reminders you asked for. Legal basis: contract and consent.
- Payment related records (which items you bought, order status, instalment schedule): to give you access to what you paid for. Card details are handled by our payment provider, not by us. Legal basis: contract.
- Support messages and correspondence: to answer you and keep a record of the issue. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Technical data (IP address, device and browser information, log and error data): to keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix faults. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers who host and run the platform for us: our cloud database and authentication provider, our live video and audio provider for office hours and cohort sessions, and our transactional email provider.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of our products, subscription and instalment management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Mentors and reviewers, who see the profile, booking and submission data needed to run your session or review your entry. Peer reviews are shown anonymised to other LytQuesters.
- Professional advisers such as legal and accounting, where needed.
- Authorities or regulators where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third party advertising.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as UK and EU standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision covering the destination country.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and learning records for as long as your account is open, and for up to two years afterwards so archives, leaderboards and mentor histories stay coherent. Order and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires, usually six years. Support messages are kept for two years. Live session chat and whiteboard content is kept only for the session and a short period afterwards. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. You can exercise most of these directly from your profile, or email hello@lytquest.com. We respond within one month.
If you are in the UK or the EEA and you are unhappy with how we handled your data, you can complain to your national supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, row level access controls on our database, role based permissions, signed and expiring links for private files, and audit logging on mentorship activity. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect a problem.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use only essential cookies and browser storage: keeping you signed in, remembering your session, and holding your cohort basket until you check out. We do not use advertising or third party tracking cookies. You can clear this data in your browser settings, though signing in will no longer persist if you block it.
9. Changes and contact
We will update this notice as the platform changes and revise the date at the top. For anything else, see our Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy, or email hello@lytquest.com.
